1. About Pin & Paper

Pin & Paper ("we," "us," or "our") provides a golf league management platform that helps commissioners administer leagues and players participate in them. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

2. The Platform

Pin & Paper is provided as an online service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change over time, and we will provide reasonable notice before making changes that materially affect how you use the platform.

3. Account Types

Pin & Paper has two distinct account roles:

  • Commissioner accounts — the billing customer. Commissioners create and manage leagues, control roster access, approve scores, send communications, and are responsible for the operation of their league. The one-time league activation fee is billed to the commissioner.
  • Player accounts — players added to a league by their commissioner. Player accounts allow access to standings, schedules, score history, and event registration for the leagues they belong to.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and must provide accurate information when creating your account. One person may not create multiple accounts to circumvent platform limits or fees.

4. Commissioner Responsibilities

Commissioners are solely responsible for the leagues they create and manage, including:

  • Accuracy of roster information, handicaps, and scores entered into the platform.
  • Communications sent to players through the platform.
  • Compliance with any applicable local laws related to running a competitive league.
  • Collection of player dues or event entry fees from players (see Section 6).
  • Eligibility and standing determinations for their league.

Pin & Paper provides tools; commissioners are responsible for how those tools are used.

5. Platform Fees & Billing

Commissioners pay a one-time activation fee to launch a league. Players pay a one-time League Pass per league or a monthly Premium Player Pass subscription. Fees are as described on the pricing page.

  • Leagues in draft mode are never billed. Billing begins when the commissioner activates the league.
  • League activation is a one-time flat fee charged at the time of activation.
  • Player League Passes are one-time per-league fees. Premium Player Pass subscriptions are billed monthly.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
  • If payment fails, the platform will attempt to collect payment. After multiple failed attempts, access may be restricted.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store payment card details.

6. Player Entry Fees & Event Fees

Pin & Paper does not process player registration dues, event entry fees, or payouts of any kind. The platform provides tools to help commissioners trackwhether individual players have paid fees that are collected outside of Pin & Paper (via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or other means).

Commissioners are solely responsible for collecting fees from players and for any disputes related to those fees. Pin & Paper has no role in, and no liability for, money exchanged between commissioners and players.

7. Score Data & Handicaps

Pin & Paper maintains an internal league handicap system. Handicaps calculated by the platform are for competitive use within a league only. They are not USGA Handicap Index™ values and are not connected to the GHIN system or any official handicap authority.

Score entry and handicap values can be entered, edited, or overridden by the commissioner at any time. Commissioners have final authority over all scoring and standing data in their league.

8. Communications

The platform sends transactional emails on behalf of commissioners to players using Resend as the delivery service. These include account verification, league invitations, event reminders, and results notifications.

Commissioners are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent to contact the players they add to their league. Players may contact support@pinandpaper.co to request removal from a league or to stop receiving communications.

9. Your Data

You retain ownership of your league data. We will not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how we handle your data.

10. Cancellation & Data After Cancellation

Commissioner league activation fees are one-time and non-refundable. Players on the Premium Player Pass subscription can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

After cancellation, the league moves to a suspended state. League data — roster, scores, standings, and history — is retained for a reasonable grace period. You may contact us to request permanent deletion of your league data at any time.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform for unlawful purposes, to harass other users, or to attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

12. Creator & Referral Programs

Pin & Paper offers a Player Referral program (free subscription months) and a Creator Program (recurring cash commission for approved creators). Participation is governed by the Referral Program Rules and, for creators, the Creator Program Agreement and related policies, which are incorporated into these terms for participants.

  • Referral rewards and commissions are earned only on genuine, completed payments from brand-new accounts; self-referrals and existing accounts are not eligible.
  • Commissions and rewards are never generated on failed, refunded, or charged-back payments, and reversed payments reverse the related reward.
  • Creator commissions require an approved creator account; approval, commission rates, and eligibility are at Pin & Paper's discretion.
  • Fraud or abuse — including fake accounts, fake subscriptions, self-referrals, or chargeback abuse — may result in suspension and forfeiture of pending and unpaid rewards.
  • Pin & Paper may modify, pause, or discontinue either program at any time, with reasonable notice of material changes.

In the event of a conflict between these terms and a program-specific policy, the program-specific policy governs that program.

13. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is." We make no warranties — express or implied — regarding uptime, accuracy of handicap calculations, or fitness for any particular purpose. While we strive for accuracy in standings and score calculations, Pin & Paper is not liable for errors in calculated results.

The commissioner is the final authority on their league's results.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Pin & Paper's liability to you is limited to the fees you paid to Pin & Paper in the three months preceding any claim — including one-time league activation fees, League Passes, and any Premium Player Pass charges. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any disputes between commissioners and players.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that point constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
